Although the price of real estate is high in Vancouver, it is still one of the most beautiful and most livable cities in the world. Vancouver is a major city, but it’s location is nestled between beautiful mountains and ocean, making it a very desirable place to enjoy life.

Similar to Vancouver Island, Vancouver experiences the same milder climate. However, Vancouver tends to get the most amount of rain. It receives about 1200 mm of rain per year. It is Canada’s third most rainy city. To put that into perspective, London, England receives about half of the amount of rain Vancouver receives! So, make sure you are prepared with rain gear during the months of October-March!

Vancouver is a modern, cosmopolitan city with a vibrant cultural life. Vancouver’s many beautiful theatres attract film goers, critics, playwrights, and creators from all over the world. The Vancouver International Film Festival runs for two weeks, every September. There are many art museums and galleries, such as the Vancouver Art Gallery. There are science museums, history museums, and many other interesting shops and places to visit. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Vancouver Opera are also important parts of Vancouver’s cultural scene. Not to mention the endless amounts of restaurants of all different ethnic styles and flavours.

Vancouver has a very advanced public transit system. There are busses, ferries, sea buses, skytrains, and subway cars that will get you to where you want to go. There is also the Vancouver International Airport, along with the Harbour Seaplanes.

Vancouver as a city has a strong identity. It is associated with being clean, green, and environmentally sustainable. There are many hospitals in the area, and Vancouver has some of the best resources for clinics and people-specific institutions such as the BC Children’s Hospital, and youth and women clinics.
